About the Role
The early years are the foundation for everything that follows, and the people working in them shape how a child feels about learning long before they reach the classroom. It is hands-on, energetic work built on play, routine, close observation and a lot of patience, and few roles in education give you such a direct view of the difference you are making.
Surecall Education recruits for private day nurseries, pre-schools, playgroups and children's centres across the UK, covering temporary, permanent and ad hoc cover work. We place unqualified nursery assistants, Level 2 and Level 3 early years practitioners, room leaders, deputy managers and nursery managers, and we take the time to understand the setting so that you are matched with a team and an age group that genuinely suit you.

What We Look For
We want to hear from people at every stage, whether you have years of early years experience behind you or you have never worked in a nursery before. There are only three things you genuinely need to register with us:
An enhanced DBS certificate, including barred list check, or a willingness to obtain one
Professional references
Right to work in the UK
Useful to have, but not essential:
Experience in a nursery, pre-school or other early years setting
A Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education or Childcare
Paediatric first aid or safeguarding training
A working knowledge of the EYFS framework
You do not need to be qualified to work with us, and you do not need to be planning to become qualified either. Plenty of the people we place have no formal childcare qualifications and no intention of taking any, and that is absolutely fine. What our nursery clients care about most is finding warm, reliable people who are good with children and happy to muck in, and they will show you the ropes once you are there. Paediatric first aid is the same: handy if you have it, never a reason not to apply. If a qualification is something you would like to work towards, tell your consultant and we will look for settings that support that, but there is no expectation either way.
